In-N-Out fast food is a delight.

A restaurant named In-N-Out,

Tasty burgers, fries and shakes. What a delight!

It’s limited to the west but one of the best.

That’s my thought as we wanted to visit this popular fast-food restaurant.

In-N-Out at Irving, Texas.

The chain restaurant is not located near the U.S. east coast so we relished the opportunity to visit and enjoy the dining in Irving,Texas in fall 2018.

The first restaurant opened in California in 1948 as Harry Snyder introduced California’s first drive-thru hamburger stand in a space barely 10 feet square in Baldwin Park.

Every day before dawn Harry visited the meat and produce markets to pick out fresh ingredients, which he prepared by hand.  Esther, his wife, took care of the accounting for the new restaurant at their home right around the corner.

Burgers and shakes at In-N-Out, Irving, Texas, including a bun-less burger for the gluten-free desire.

The restaurants are located only in California, Arizona, Nevada,Utah, Texas and Oregon.   I think the reason they have not expanded more eastward is the intent to keep the ingredients fresh daily.

If you travel near Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, it may be worth a side trip to In-N-Out not far away at Irving.

Blessings along the Way!

    1. I can imagine. It’s probably good that we don’t have one nearby. I’ll just have to make special trips hundreds of miles. 🙂 We will keep your secret secret. 😉

  1. I remember trying it for the first time when I moved to LA.. I don’t eat meat anymore, but still love those small-town diner vibes and it’s great how they’ve kept the menu so simple.

    1. I agree. There is something special about the small diners that sometimes take us back in time a little. I usually balance my intake of meats but sometimes have to try certain menus as a special opportunity. 🙂

  2. Great and delicious looking post. The pictures are amazing. It’s too bad they haven’t expanded! Please come to Miami, please. 😏
I’ve never tried them, but wow! That picture of that burger – and I’m not even a ‘burger’ gal, but I’ll take it in a heart beat.
    Is the burger today $25?

    1. I know, right? We could use them in North Florida too. Yes, I can still taste the burger – so to speak. 😉 The cheeseburger combo with fries and drink was $6.25. Shakes are only $2.45. I think they are reasonable on price and more healthy conscious. They even list the calories on the menu. 🙂 Thanks for commenting.

      1. I bet you can! I would too! They look too good, so delicious!
The price isn’t bad at all, waaayyy better looking than Burger King and McDonalds – that’a for SURE.
I’m tempted to order them and freeze them for later, is that too much?! … No, not at all, when you don’t have them in Miami. 😏🤣

    1. Thanks so much Amy. I wondered how they would turn out. I looked at the lamp shade while editing and at first wondered if it was in the original. Then I realized it was the reflection. Maybe a little blend of the past and today does good. 🙂

  3. Now you’ve done it – I – am – jealous! I love In-N-Out. It’s been two years since I last had one, and I skipped a fancy-schmancy-company-funded lunch to get one (two guys went with me).

    1. Sorry bout that! 😬 But, it sure was good. I agree, I’ve had my share of those fancy meals but I rather just eat at places like this. Glad I could provide some good memories. 🙂
